My Time At The Homewood Suites In Schenectady

Working as a front desk agent at the Homewood Suites by Hilton in Schenectady has been a rewarding and enlightening experience. This extended stay hotel caters to a diverse range of guests, from business travelers to families on vacation. As a front desk agent, I have had the opportunity to interact with guests from all walks of life and assist them in making their stay comfortable and memorable.

As a front desk agent, my daily responsibilities included checking guests in and out, answering phone calls and emails, making reservations, and addressing any guest inquiries or concerns. I am also responsible for ensuring that the front desk area is clean and organized, and that all guest information is accurate and up-to-date. These tasks require attention to detail, strong communication skills, independence, critical thinking and the ability to multitask effectively.

Working as a front desk agent during the second shift can be challenging at times without managerial presence, especially when dealing with difficult guests or handling multiple tasks simultaneously. I have learned that remaining calm and professional in all situations, and to prioritize the needs of the guests above all else exceeds the operation of the front desk. Additionally, unexpected issues such as overbookings or maintenance issues can arise, requiring quick thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve on my own.
